About this trip

Join the Muck for an evening to experience the Pageant of the Masters!

(Depart from the Muck at approximately 3pm and return at approximately 11PM)

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience with the 2025 Pageant of the Masters, “Gold Coast: Treasures of California.” This epic show takes you on an unforgettable journey along California’s coast, showcasing masterpieces from world-class museums like the Getty, LACMA, Laguna Art Museum, de Young Museum, Timken Museum of Art, and more, plus iconic monuments from some of the state’s most famous cities. With living pictures, original music, and captivating storytelling, the Pageant brings California’s rich legacy to life in a way you won’t want to miss.

Highlights include Edgar Degas’ “Little Dancer, Aged Fourteen” from the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena and Millard Sheets’ “Pleasures Along the Beach” from the Hilbert Museum at Chapman University.

We will depart from the Muck and head to a Special Dinner to enjoy a meal with the group. After dinner, head the event location to enjoy the pre-show activities on site. There’s plenty to see and do at the Festival Art Show before the Pageant. Peruse the art show, enjoy a glass of wine, or enjoy live music on the Festival concert stage.

About the Pageant of the Masters

The Pageant of the Masters is the Festival of Arts’ crowning jewel and arguably one of the most unique productions in the entire world.  On each evening of the Festival of Arts summer schedule, ticket holders are amazed and enchanted by ninety minutes of tableaux vivants (living pictures), incredibly faithful recreations of classical and contemporary works of art, with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces.

An outdoor amphitheater, professional orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets, sophisticated lighting, expert staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers have won recognition for the Pageant of the Masters as the best presentation of its kind.

Attending the Pageant of the Masters

Dress Appropriately

Although you might think sunny and warm Laguna Beach weather, be prepared for the temperature to drop when the sun goes down. We’d suggest bringing a blanket or sweater with you or purchasing one from our gift shop.

What to Bring

Many patrons who return annually to the Pageant bring these items with them to enhance their experience:

Binoculars

Jacket or blanket

Seat cushions

You may also rent binoculars and seat cushions on site. Jackets and blankets are available to purchase at our gift shop next to the front gates. At this time, only credit/debit payments are accepted.

Theater Etiquette

As a courtesy to our volunteers and the surrounding audience, please refrain from talking during the performance. Silence or turn off all electronic devices, including cell phones, beepers and watch alarms. If you need assistance during the show, please go to your nearest usher or security guard. Be polite to all fellow patrons and Festival/Pageant staff.

Intermission

The Pageant of the Masters has a customary 15 minute intermission. It’s the perfect opportunity to grab refreshments and stretch your legs before going back to enjoy Act II of the performance.
